Rebecca Avakian
Creative Writer
Originally from South Carolina, Rebecca hunkers down in Connecticut with her husband, Zach, and their two cats, Jackpot and Lilith. There’s plenty to discover in New England, making for fun adventures biking or exploring local restaurants. When at home, she enjoys a good story whether it be from a book, video game, or film. Music is also a big part of her life.
Rebecca is a member of the Norwalk Gamer Symphony Orchestra (NGSO), where she plays the cello in the strings section. She also volunteers on several committees in the non-profit organization; the Social Media, Fundraising, and Internal Recreation committee.
Currently, Rebecca is working on writing her own collection of short stories and applying to various competitions. Additionally, while figuring out this big crazy world, she is forging new connections, improving her craft, and looking for more professional opportunities.
Rebecca holds a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology and English (Creative Writing) from Converse University.
